PERSONAL QUALITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
Business awareness:
In my current role with Chadwyck-Healey Limited, I identified a major inefficiency in my team's work-process and took the initiative to devise a solution. I designed and implemented an intranet database of URLs which was searchable alphabetically. This proved to be an invaluable knowledge-management resource, resulting in a cost-saving of 26p per page each time the database is used.
Independent research skills:
Whilst employed by Trinity College, Cambridge, I carried out a research project on e-journals. The research led me to facilitate the provision and promote the use of a number of e-journals to the library users, adding value to the existing stock of 250 journal titles.
Teamwork and tenacity:
Drawing on my experience as assistant editor of the 1999 May Anthologies, I initiated the last-minute production of a yearbook for my 200 co-graduands in King's College, Cambridge. In the fortnight before graduation, I drew together an editorial team, carried out a poster campaign canvassing for submissions, and worked with my joint-editors to produce on time and on a shoestring budget.
